Gretsch Jim Dandy and New Camera set up!

Playing my lovely Gretsch Jim Dandy guitar and testing out my new Live Streaming camera set up!

It was a lot of work and late nights trying to get all of this gear to sync up together. I am really happy with the result. Plus I think I played guitar nice in the video too.

Ambient Guitar only using Logic Pro X

After watching some great ambient guitar channels like “Chords of Orion” I was feeling inspired to try to make something myself. But, at the end of a busy day I didn’t have time to pull out all my gear. So I decided to use a 1/4″ to USB guitar cable and play my guitar directly into Logic Pro X.

The resulting song is composed of three parts:
Chords played on guitar
Lead solo played on guitar
Drums generated via the EZDrummer Software pug-in.

Check out “Chords of Orion” if you dig ambient guitar. He makes some really fun videos!

Interview with American Sitarist Chris Stephens

Hi, I’m Jeff Starr, a sitar student and filmmaker. This is my interview with Chris Stephens, an American who has been playing sitar for 15 years. You will hear a 1 minute clip of his playing before we discuss learning the sitar.

Aside from occasional lessons with Ustad Imrat Khan, Chris is primarily self taught. He is extremely dedicated to Hindustani music and has spent countless hours learning about its deep intricacies.

You can learn more about Chris at the following links:
